Now, it appears he's got his first matchup in the division, as Tatame.com reports that Pearson will square off against Junior Assuncao at UFC 141 in Las Vegas on December 30.
Assuncao made a return to the UFC in September after four years away from the organization, defeating Eddie Yagin by decision. Pearson is now 4-2 in the organization after dropping two of his last three fights.
UPDATE: The UFC has now confirmed that this featherweight bout will take place on the card.
