Carlos Condit vs. Josh Koscheck slated for UFC 143

Carlos Condit and Josh Koscheck have verbally agreed to compete in a welterweight bout at February?s UFC 143 event, according to reports from MMAJunkie.com.

UFC president Dana White at yesterday?s UFC 138 post-event press conference that the matchup was one that UFC brass were considering

"Right now, Carlos Condit wants to fight," White said. "He wants to fight on the same card as GSP and Diaz, so we'll see what happens.?

"It could be with Koscheck. Condit wanted that fight."

The news follows the UFC?s decision to take number one contender status to the UFC welterweight championship from Condit (27-5 MMA, 4-1 UFC) and re-award to Nick Diaz after his impressive display against B.J. Penn at UFC 137.

Koscheck (16-5 MMA, 14-5 UFC) �most recently competed at UFC 135 event, where he earned a first-round knockout over UFC Hall of Famer Matt Hughes.
