Jose Aldo was forced out of UFC 149 next month with what was said to be a minor injury, and indeed he'll only be delayed a couple of months. According to a report on Tuesday's UFC Tonight program on Fuel TV, Aldo is targeting an October return.

That bout will still be against Wisconsin's Erik Koch, who already expressed his desire to keep the title shot and await Aldo's return. The 23-year-old challenger hasn't fought since last September, when he defeated Ultimate Fighter winner Jonathan Brookins for his third straight win. In his five year career, he's posted a 13-1 record through 14 fights.

Aldo, the 25-year-old Champion, is entering his eighth year in the sport, holding a 21-1 record overall. He hasn't tasted defeat since 2005, and since then he's won 14 straight fights, including six in fights for the WEC and UFC Titles.

Penick's Analysis: There are rumors that the UFC is targeting an event in Brazil for October, and if that's the case this would be a fight that makes sense for that event. The fight itself is a fantastic featherweight fight, and though the fans in Calgary are certainly disappointed they won't get to see it live, it will still be a great fight once it does take place.
