Dana White: Rory MacDonald Could be Next Big Superstar, but No Pressure

With Jon Jones and Rashad Evans hoarding all of the UFC 145 headlines, it?s easy to forget skyrocketing welterweight Rory MacDonald (Pictured) will be ending his eight-month hiatus in the card?s co-featured attraction.
MacDonald owns a practically perfect 12-1 rsum, with his lone professional blemish coming at the hands of now-current interim champion Carlos Condit. The 22-year-old shook off the June 2010 hiccup by posting convincing wins over Nate Diaz and Mike Pyle, respectively.
Many believe the youngster could be the division?s next superstar, including his Tristar teammate and reigning welterweight king.
?This kid?s awesome,? UFC president Dana White previously stated. ?Even Georges St-Pierre says he?s the next Georges St-Pierre, so that?s pretty impressive.
?This kid could be the next big superstar. We?ll see. You never know. I don?t like to throw that kind of pressure on guys.?
MacDonald?s ascent up the 170-pound totem pole was temporarily derailed when the injury bug forced him out of his UFC 140 scrap against Brian Ebersole.
He meets Che Mills this Saturday inside Philips Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.
