M-1 Global Light Heavyweight Champion Vinny Magalhaes successfully defended his belt on Friday night on Showtime, taking out challenger Mikhail Zayats with a spectacular head kick and smart follow up strikes in the third round. The victory came after Magalhaes had lost the first two rounds of the fight. In the co-main event, Kenny Garner captured the M-1 Global Interim Heavyweight Championship with a tedious win over Maxim Grishin in the fifth round.
