Minnesota's Marcus LeVesseur started off strong in his UFC debut against Cody McKenzie on Tuesday night, but a mental mistake led to another guillotine choke win for the Alaskan at UFC on Fuel 3.
LeVesseur took McKenzie down almost immediately, but the fight came back to the feet quickly. LeVesseur then dropped McKenzie with some strikes against the cage, but then followed him to the ground. After attempting to pass and work from the top, LeVesseur sat in McKenzie's guard and McKenzie slowly locked in the guillotine choke. He rolled it over, and LeVesseur was forced to tap.
The loss was LeVesseur's first since 2010, and snapped a three fight winning streak. For McKenzie, the win halted a two fight losing skid inside the Octagon.
